In a privileged setting in the hamlet of Les Tines, 4 km from Chamonix, the tastefully renovated Excelsior Chamonix and Spa is a haven of peace, with a wonderful view and the Mont-Blanc and Aiguilles Rouges ranges.

Its assets: an outdoor heated swimming pool (during the summertime), incredible views, easy parking, and just a few minutes by train or bus to the town center & slopes.

The 79 rooms and suites, most with balcony or terrace, are soberly elegant and fully equipped.
In the summer, its large heated outdoor swimming pool plunges you at the foot of glaciers.
The 18-hole golf course and the Flégère cable car (both for skiing, climbing or mountaineering) are 1 km away.
A bus stop and train station near the hotel allow to reach Chamonix.

Shout out to Robert!
The staff on reception were really nice and helpful. We had an issue with our tyre and Robert went out if his way to help in his own time to get a replacement so we could continue our journey! We have stayed several times in the past and staff like Robert make us want to stay again in future.

Fantastic customer service and perfect for ski holiday
Me and a friend stayed here for 4 nights at the end of Feb for some skiing. Staff were fantastic. Answered all of our questions and extremely helpful. Incredible customer service. Located just a 5 minute walk to the bus stop in very scenic area, stunning views of Mont Blanc at breakfast. Buses run every 15 minutes (mostly free with ski pass) or so and several to take so very convent plus a train station opposite - free with card given by hotel. The atmosphere is very calm so perfect for a relaxing getaway. Rooms were exactly as described and lovely bathrooms. Very clean and house keeping clean daily. Beds comfortable too with coffee machine and mini fridge. We were also offered a room upgrade completely free of charge! Very good value for money in such an expensive area and would definitely visit again.

Never again
Poor service and room quality, poor value for money. Noisy room, cigarette smoke entering from outside in the morbning as staff was smoking below our room.

3 star hotel
This hotel definitely isn’t a 4 star. Two deluxe rooms one very small second room much bigger. Awful red carpet in room that’s seen better days, mould in shower tray, stains on duvet cover, marked doors and furniture, the one room was extremely hot even with the heating off. We weren’t informed of the free train. Coffee, milk and water wasn’t replenished, when queried at reception we were told that we had to pay. Unheard of in a 4 star hotel.

Great hotel
We overall really enjoyed our stay at Excelsior. There were minor improvements that could be made like the hot tub in the spa was a bit cold, there was limited storage in the room, the service at the bar was slow at happy hour, our phone didn't work so room service was not convenient, we weren't given the free train tickets on arrival, the ski lockers had heaters for boots but I don't think they were used/working, there's no shuttle to town or the lifts and whilst it's only a short walk from a bus stop - the best hotels have this, they didn't restock coffee or water in the room each day, the best hotels also have supportive ski room staff who both sell gear and support skiers with knowledge of the slopes and getting into boots etc. The good points: staff were very smiley, friendly, spoke good English on the whole, and were accommodating. The rooms were clean and tidy and spacious with good views in deluxe. Towels were replaced regularly. Good selection at breakfast and stunning breakfast views in the restaurant. Overall high quality of food and beverages with local options. Decent public transport links into town and to the lifts with free train tickets included. Nicely decorated hotel, modern and cosy inside. The shower was reasonably powerful and always warm. I quite liked the pay as you go spa because it's quite small so it meant that demand was controlled and there were usually very few/no others there when you wanted to go making it more relaxing. I think with a few upgrades like adding a gym, a local minivan shuttle service, and a few cute touches like chocolates on the pillow, maybe a couple extra staff, this could become a great 5 star hotel easily. As it is though, a solid pleasing 4-star stay offering good value for money in a good location for access to the wider Chamonix area and all the lifts. I would recommend it and stay again.
