Description

Le Chamonix hotel** is located in the centre, in a mainly pedestrian area. It overlooks the small square between the Tourist Office, the church and the Maison de la Montagne (Guide company and ski school). The main bus stop with valley shuttles is only 200 m away.
On the ground floor, there is the bar Le Chamonix, offering snacks and meeting point for local people.


Its 16 rooms are facing Mont-Blanc or Aiguilles Rouges and some have balconies.


You can easily reach the departure's lift of Savoy to get to PLan Praz by a walk of 10 minutes

Places to visit

Not to be missed in Chamonix Mont Blanc!

- All year round take the Aiguille du Midi cable car at 3842 meters above sea level. Its furnished terraces offer a 360 ° view of all the French, Swiss and Italian Alps.

- Montenvers train - Mer de Glace : An imposing panorama on the la Mer de Glace Glacier and the mountains. 

- Brévent / Flégère gondola: Exceptional panorama facing the Mont-Blanc range.

- Planards area: In winter, take advantage of the beginner ski area starting in the town center, and all year round a summer sledge on rails and numerous games for children.

- QC Terme : Let yourself go in this SPA area with infinity pools, relaxation and dining areas in the heart of the city.

Wouldn’t recommend
The hotel rooms are very very basic. Very uncomfortable bed and pillow. Very old and dated rooms. If you get a back facing window, expect little to no sleep. From 11pm until after 4am there’s a constant stream of people leaving the bars who hang out loudly at the children’s play area outside the back of the hotel. All night! There’s also loud construction noise until 6pm right outside the back of the hotel too. We stayed here before and after hiking TMB and it was a big mistake. You don’t get any sleep or rest. Couldn’t wait to leave.

Tremendous 2 star hotel in the centre of Chamonix
Tremendous 2 star hotel in the centre of Chamonix! Stayed here for 4 days and it is simply perfect if you want a budget friendly stay. It is clean, quiet although does come with a side order of shabby chic. Beds are clean and comfortable, breakfast bountiful and the bar downstairs perfect for a chilled beer. Add in free parking and a ski boot plus you can walk to a ski lift (Brevent), albeit up a small hill. It’s perfect and unbeatable value. Merci

The view and the nice staff!!
Ok it’s old but they told us it’s gonna be updated asap, room is clean, the view is stunning, the breakfast was good and the staff makes you feel welcome, we will recommend this hotel, it’s in the hart of the centre. thanks Xavier and Fabrice, maybe till next year!
