LES AIGLONS HOTEL CHAMONIX ****

Set overlooking Mount Blanc is the highlight of the hotel and it’s also a short walk into the centre of Chamonix, the gondolas up into the mountains are close by. The hotel reception, bar and restaurant areas are welcoming and beautifully decorated. Breakfast had a good choice of food whereas we found the evening meals menu to have little choice and heavy on the carbs and it took along time for food to arrive, for one evening we went elsewhere for food. Staff were always professional and polite. Our room had an amazing view of Mount Blanc and over the pool area, there was a Dyson fan rather than air conditioning which didn’t really do the job of cooling the room down at night. The room itself was pleasant enough and the bathroom did the job but not sure why they painted the whole thing Simpson yellow?! We were here on half board, in hindsight I would have gone for B&B as there are plenty of options of restaurants close by.

From the moment we arrived I could tell I would like this hotel more than others I’ve stayed in Chamonix. Daniela greeted us at reception, and was the friendly face we saw throughout our stay. I had arrived with no luggage since BA didn’t put it on the plane and she was so good at helping us get sorted quickly to get shopping before the stores closed. The rooms were good and clean and typical of a Chamonix stay. The bed was comfortable and we had a Dyson fan to help with the heat (thankfully it cools down at night in the mountains). There was a kettle to make tea which always makes me happy. Breakfast was of a very high standard, and had lots of gluten free options - not something I can always find. There are water refill stations throughout the hotel making it very easy to have good water. The great, very friendly service continued at breakfast where all the staff seemed really happy and helpful. It was just such a pleasure. When my bags did finally arrive Daniela found me and made sure we were reconnected. For a medium sized hotel I was touched at how we were remembered and greeted by name and even recalling our planned activities! It is in an easy location for Chamonix, and if you take a bus up its right beside the bus station which is also really helpful. All in all highly recommended!

We had an amazing stay here! The hotel was very relaxing and quiet, we were on the first floor and still couldn’t hear any noise! The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The reception and bar were very polite and helpful, as well as the staff at the spa. The pool and spa area was quiet which was very relaxing and had stunning views! Id recommend this hotel to anyone! Right next to the buss/ coach pick up and only a short walk from the main centre.
