CHALET HOTEL LE PRIEURE & SPA****

We stayed here May 2026 for our honeymoon and booked the “Double room - Superior with balcony and Mont-Blanc view”. We ended up checking out early to stay in a nicer place. - We were given a room with two twin beds - The view was almost entirely blocked by the building next door - The front desk workers were cold and lacked information on nearby attractions - The breakfast was barely edible and definitely not worth the price - Traffic sounds from the street keep you up

Lacking empathy and flexibility in medical emergencies"We had a very disappointing experience regarding the hotel’s customer service. Although we had a non-refundable booking, a sudden illness occurred on Sunday that made it impossible for us to travel. We immediately informed the hotel, explaining that we did not want to risk infecting other guests and requested an exception for a refund or rescheduling due to these medical circumstances.The nearest hospital capable of issuing a certificate on a Sunday was 50 minutes away, and since we were too ill to travel there that day, we could only obtain the official doctor’s note on Monday. Unfortunately, the hotel flatly refused to accept this.The receptionist on duty that day was not kind and handled the situation without any compassion. In a very difficult and stressful moment, we expected at least a small amount of humanity and understanding. Sadly, we found none here. We are very disappointed that rules were prioritized over basic empathy.

A wonderful hotel with a beautiful view. The breakfast is one of the best! There is everything you could need: cheese, herring, smoked salmon, meat, syrup, yogurt, bacon, eggs, sausages, coffee, and tea. The rooms are excellent. The pillows were a bit uncomfortable for us, but they brought us additional ones — we’re probably just used to something different. One downside was the lack of air conditioning, so we had to sleep with the balcony door open (we’re used to sleeping with AC at around 16°C). However, guests in neighboring rooms were smoking on their balconies, which was unpleasant. I think if there were stricter fines for smoking in public areas, it wouldn’t be an issue 🙂 That said, the reception staff helped us — they likely spoke to our neighbors, and on the last night we were able to sleep with fresh air. We were also very happy to receive a gift for our 30th wedding anniversary — it was a lovely touch! Thank you for a great stay!
