With its very contemporary architecture, the Alpina Eclectic Hotel * * * * stands out in the centre of Chamonix.

The hotel offers a chic relaxation spirit where natural materials, design and urban furniture, contrasting colors and original decorative elements blend wonderfully.
The 129 rooms and 9 suites are a permanent nod to the 2 mythical mountain animals : the Dahu and the Yeti !

The restaurant-bar Le Buffet Alpina, perched on the 7th and last floor, provides one of the most beautiful panoramic view over the valley, the Mont-Blanc and the city.
The FRENCH BLVD is a bar-restaurant on the banks of the Arve, facing the Mont-Blanc range for a business lunch, an intimate dinner or an aperitif with friends.

The 2 jacuzzis, largely glazed, overlook the river bordering the hotel. You will also have an access to Sauna, Hammam, and Fitness Room

The Savoy beginner ski area is at 5 mn walk away and allows to reach on skiing the Planpraz cable car.
Finally, the bus stop in front of the hotel provides service throughout the valley and its various ski lifts.

Very poor customer service and little understanding for extenuating circumstances
Unfortunately I can't speak to the hotel stay itself specifically, but sharing this story as a warning to others. I prepaid a 2 night stay room through Chase travel and my outbound flight from the US was cancelled and rebooked 48 hours later... enough to miss my stay here. After speaking with the travel agency they said they would speak with the hotel to see if they would be understanding and issue a refund for the stay I would be unable to make. Evidently the hotel told the travel company that they wouldn't refund my stay which I'm told is somewhat uncommon that they were willing to be understanding. Additionally the hotel never responded my direct emails in regards to the situation and wound up charging me 750$ US to not stay there. Just be warned!

Poor bar service - avoid
We were not guests but fancied a cocktail by the river, so passing by we stopped and sat down. No menu on the table so we asked a passing staff member who abruptly told is it was a QR code menu. Great - no phone service and no wifi as we weren't guests! So I went inside and asked for a paper menu - they don't have any! So God help you if you are not tech savvy, or don't have a phone on you. The reason given was rather haughtily that they are an eco hotel. One of the staff gave me the wifi code and we ordered an Aperol and a Negroni using the QR system. No one came to ask how we were enjoying things, struck up any friendly conversation, or took any care in our custom. Both drinks were passable but rather weak and watery - not good enough to go there again. I then went inside and paid, not leaving any tip whatsoever in the only venue in Chamonix where we haven't. Says it all. There is much better service, and far better staff and cocktails elsewhere in Chamonix. The general manager and the bar manager need to start earning their money and train their staff a bit better in customer service and provide a range of customer friendly menu options. AVOID.

Wonderful stay in a perfect location!
We had such a lovely stay in Chamonix and would definitely return to this hotel. The location was excellent, right at the end of the main street, with a beautiful view of Mont Blanc and a stunning river running alongside, which made it feel really special. The atmosphere in the hotel was calm and quiet throughout our stay, and we were never disturbed by noise at night. There was one evening where the fire alarm went off late, but the staff were quick to come around and reassure everyone that everything was fine, which we really appreciated. I was initially worried the room might be a bit small, but it was actually perfect for us given other reviews but, there was plenty of space to move around and store our luggage comfortably. The bed was large and very comfortable, and the room was well equipped with a coffee machine, kettle, iron, ironing board, and plenty of hangers. The only thing we felt was missing was a mini fridge or somewhere for us to store drinks and fruit etc that we had bought at the supermarket. The hotel itself was spotlessly clean, and overall we thought it offered great value for money. There was also a spa, as well as a bar and games room , which was a great added touch, although we didn’t get a chance to use all of the facilities during our stay. The hotel also had a restaurant, but we didn’t use this either. Overall, a fantastic experience in a beautiful setting — we would definitely stay here again! ✨

Horrible experience!
Not a great experience overall. While the hotel highlights having a restaurant but we were told at check in that they are only serving breakfasts! Surprising when they actually have a proper space and set up. Our biggest shocker came with umbrellas. Chamonix weather can be finicky and getting rains is par for the course. At most hotels, they provide guests with umbrellas for use for free but not here. They have stand where it will charge 3 Euros for a 48 hour usage. So far so good. But if you end up crossing 48 hours for even a min then they will swipe your card for 20 EUR straight away! I mean if you do go overboard then charge for the next 48 hours but this was insane. Overall, we found the hotel generally quite unhelpful, staff not available for long periods at time and lack of eating options within the premises a real pain during periods when it rains.
